Compliance

No review gating. Not as a setting — as an absence.

The feature that gets sellers suspended is the one competitors advertise. We did not build it. Tests in our codebase exist to stop anyone adding it later.

The rules

What marketplaces actually forbid

Amazon’s rule is short. You may thank a buyer. You may ask for an honest review. You may not offer anything in return, and you may not try to influence what it says.

Allowed

  • Thanking the buyer for their order
  • Asking for an honest review, good or bad
  • Pointing to the review page with a QR code
  • Offering support or a warranty sign-up

Forbidden

  • Asking specifically for a positive review
  • Offering a discount, gift or refund for a review
  • Sending only happy buyers to the review page
  • Asking buyers to contact you instead of reviewing

This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice. Marketplace policies change — check the current wording in your seller account before you print anything.

How we hold ourselves to it

Four rules the software enforces on us.

No branching on an answer

No rule in the product can read what a buyer scored and change the next screen. Every respondent walks the same path.

Every destination, shown to everyone

A reviews campaign shows all the places you chose, in your order, to every buyer. Nothing is filtered by anything they did.

A way to contact you is always visible

Your support address appears for everyone. It is an addition to the review links, never a diversion from them.

Your card wording is checked before it saves

Phrasing that reads as review manipulation stops the save in the designer until you have seen the warning — which matters, because a printed card cannot be edited.

An automated test suite checks all four before every release. If someone tried to add sentiment routing, the build would fail before it shipped.

What is review gating?

You ask a buyer how happy they are. Happy ones get sent to the public review page. Unhappy ones get a private complaints form instead. The rating that results is not what customers actually think, and marketplaces treat it as review manipulation.

Does Monact do review gating?

No, and it cannot be switched on. There is no rule anywhere in the product that reads an answer and changes what the buyer sees next. The path is the same for a one and a five.

Can I offer a discount for leaving a review?

No. Offering anything in exchange for a review is against Amazon policy — and Etsy’s, eBay’s, Google’s and Trustpilot’s — and is one of the fastest routes to a suspension. Keep the card to thanks and an honest request.

Can I ask buyers to contact me instead of leaving a bad review?

No. Amazon prohibits that specifically. Monact shows your contact address to everybody instead. It sits on the same screen as the review links, for every buyer. So an unhappy customer has a way to reach you, and nobody is steered away from the review page.
